There is a spot on the banks of Benbrook lake that has my heart. In the summer it is filled with wildflowers. It has views in every direction and is a place our group of artist meet to paint. It is the subject of many of my landscapes.

This sunflower brightened my day when it was blooming in my garden.  I loved the clouds that seemed to be dancing in the background. It was a fun combination to create with my palette knife and lots of colorful paint.

I was chasing the sun, but distracted by the sunflowers.   This was inspired from fields of sunflowers in the Pecan Valley area of Benbrook.  I always arrive here about the time the sun is rising on my way to work.  I love the area and completed many paintings from here.

I created this from a small study I painted on location at Lake Benbrook.
