Just Sold! Painted on location, I wanted this piece to be very inviting and relaxing.  The tide laps against the shore so that you can hear the rhythmic, soothing music of the waves cresting and falling. Sunlight rakes across the wooden porch while you gently rock, enjoying the sounds and the view. Whenever I visit the seashore I always feel rejuvenated, and I hope I’ve translated that onto the canvas for you to experience it, too.

As an artist, I am always looking for contrast; shadows give me what I am looking for! In addition to loving this old structure, the play of light is a painters dream! The inspiration for "Morning Shadows" came from childhood experiences such as playing in the midst of a huge field of grass, lying on the ground making images out of clouds, and trees awash with color in the autumn of the year. This watercolor painting on paper is double matted and beautifully custom framed!
