This painting has haunted me for a while...I started it 3 years ago and put it aside. I felt that it grabbed your attention, but there was something lacking. The foreground was interesting, but there just wasn't enough going on in the background. I reworked the background. (acrylics can ALWAYS be reworked...which is a good and bad thing) I added in the rows of ridges, one in shadow and two hilighted by the sun. Now, I feel the viewer's eye is able to move through the painting without being stuck on the rock face.
