"Texas Impressions III" New Bluebonnet oil painting by Texas Artist Niki Gulley

"Texas Impressions III" ©2016 Niki Gulley
 24" x 12" textured oil painting

I painted these Texas Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush with extremely thick oil paint and palette knives to achieve depth and texture. The resulting image comes to life and is loaded with color and energy. In this vertical wildflower series, I've framed the paintings in espresso floater frames so that you can still see the textured oil paint continuing around the edges of the canvas. These Texas wildflowers look great hung alone or in a grouping, too!

Daily Painting, Sunset Painting, Small Oil Painting, "Marsh Sky", 11x14x1.5" Landscape Oil Painting

Life here in the mountains, of North Carolina, is a slower pace for me,  But the days are quickly getting shorter and shorter.  The leaves are beautiful, my favorite time of year!  It reminds me of my childhood days in northern Ohio, burning leaves, apple cider, hay rides.  I wonder if people still do those things.

I am still busy, painting commissions, but I managed to paint this 11x14x1.5" landscape,  It is a study for a commission.

275. + shipping
It is not easy capturing that "glow" from a beautiful sunset, and I am not sure I succeded here. but it is a start.

Christmas Tree Parade, Christmas Paintings by Amy Whitehouse

12" x 16" Oil on Canvas Panel, $45

I enjoyed layering over and over on this painting.
I started with making a textured background,
then painting in the image in acrylics.
I then added oil paints for richness and depth.

Perfect Walk..Pastels..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

Just finished this one. Sooo cozy in my studio with all the rain we are having, perfect to paint!

The scene is one I took a photo of while on my morning walk in Austin. I love this greenbelt area, so much to see. Of course I tend to romanticize my colors.

In actual fact they were all pretty green on the actual day, so this is with the 'Rae' touch. :))

This is a pastel on Sennelier sanded paper and is unframed
5.5" x 7.25"
$75 Plus S/H

Prints are also available through Fine art America:

Rae conducts workshops and demonstrations of her many techniques . She uses all media.

Please contact her through this blog, or via her website at:
