"MIDDLE OF MAY" – plein air landscape oil painting by Texas modern impressionist Jimmy Longacre

Today's painting, entitled "MIDDLE OF MAY" is an 8"x10",  plein air study, oil on canvas panel, by Texas modern impressionist Jimmy Longacre.
The painting was done on a friend's ranch in the Texas Hill Country.  I'm always surprised how little it takes to develop a pleasing painting when it has a clear design and color idea. This humble setting turned out to have everything I needed to work out an idea that I could invest myself in as a vehicle to express my love for where I live.

  1. They look a lot like the stately black walnut but don't possess as potent of a plant growth inhibitor in its root system. The nuts are also delicious. There are now disease resistant butternuts available. Hazelnut blooms when nothing else blooms and sports beautiful foliage in the fall. Landscaping Georgetown
