The beaches of Marin County in Northern California are so uniquely beautiful - beach and dunes, then sometimes the marshes with the foggy hills in the distance.  Limantour Beach is one of those uniquely beautiful spots and it's popular with visitors AND artists!

The painting is framed in a high quality Randy Higbee black wood frame with very subtle gold flecks on the black surface.  The thin liner surrounding the painting is burnished gold.  The painting is oil on wood panel with the panel sides painted black.  Framed and ready to hang, this would look great on many walls.

A small painting with large impact!  The unforgettable image of Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite in Yosemite National Park is the subject.  I've spent a lot of time in Yosemite painting and hiking, and one memorable winter season I exhibited at the Yosemite Museum. You can read about one of my painting trips to Yosemite here  H E R E    in my blog.

The lighting in this small painting is set in late afternoon, with the sun catching the mist flying off the top of the falls; pretty dynamic and exciting!

The painting is framed in a high quality Randy Higbee black wood frame with very subtle gold flecks on the black surface.  The thin liner surrounding the painting is burnished gold.  The painting is oil on wood panel with the panel sides painted black.  Framed and ready to hang, this would look great on many wells.

Below is the view of the small works painting, unframed .  Enjoy looking! I know I do; this painting catches my eye every time I view it.

Abstract, Contemporary Untitled Landscape by California Janet Bludau

24" x 36"
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
I am excited to post this painting as I am really happy with it!   Those who paint with me know how critical of myself I am.  I sigh, I groan, I say things like "what is WRONG with me today?"
None of that happened in my little home studio today.  I was just on fire and messy and so enjoying myself!  Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday also.

"Oak Tree Dreams" by Monique Straub

Painting daily sometimes gets my ideas flowing so fast that it's hard to keep up. Usually, I arrive at the studio in the morning with no idea what the day will bring. I thumb through a big box of reference photos I've taken on my travels, and one thing or another will jump out to be painted. But on this day, before I could even get into the studio, this group of oak trees worked their way into my early morning dreams. Do you dream in color? My dreams are in crazy color...and usually that "wonky" pathway is in every dream. Hmmm, I wonder what that means...

Sonoma Foothills by Monique Straub

California landscape paintings are favorites of mine, and the wine country offers an endless source of beautiful settings. John and I are looking forward to another trip to Sonoma soon. He will get his race car fix at Infineon Raceway, while I'll be armed with sketchbook, pastels and camera. Maybe a few race car paintings, definitely more vineyard paintings, and oh...I'm sure there will be a few glasses of the grape in there somewhere!

Painted in soft pastel on sandpaper, this piece is 9" x 12" and framed in wide, dark wood with UV/non-glare museum glass. Buy it now price: $250 + $30 to ship anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada.

"Torrey Pines Vista" by Monique Straub

Another in my Torrey Pines Nature Preserve series, this is one of the many beautiful views from the hiking trails that overlook the Pacific Ocean. Looking south down the coast, with La Jolla in the distance, the ocean breezes and smell of warm pine needles underfoot make for a truly enjoyable afternoon stroll.

This piece is painted in soft pastel and measures 11" x 14". Framed in wide, dark wood with UV/Non-glare museum glass, it is ready to hang and enjoy. Buy it now price: $325 + $30 to ship anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada. For more information or to view additional available works, click here.

After the Storm by Monique Straub

The upside to the recent record breaking storms in California is the smell of "rain fresh" air and the vibrant "just washed" colors of the foliage. It's that "silver lining" thinking that inspires todays painting of the wine country landscape.

Painted in soft pastel on sandpaper, this piece measures 11" x 17" and is framed in dark wood with UV/Non-glare museum glass. Buy it now price: $375.00, available for local (San Diego) pick up, or + $40 to ship anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada.

"I'll have Merlot" by Monique Straub

This scene in Sonoma is one of my favorites. It is a smaller variation of  my painting "Wine Country Walk", with a warmer color palette. I recently had a visitor to my gallery comment that the dirt road looks like it is flowing with wine...hence the title of this piece.

Painted in soft pastel on sandpaper, this painting measures 9" x 12" and is framed in wide/dark wood with UV/Non-glare museum glass. Ready to hang and enjoy with your favorite glass of the grape.
