KM2843 Illumination, landscape painting by Colorado artist Kit Hevron Mahoney

This painting started as a warm up exercise. I painted over a painting I was not happy with and did this with very heavy strokes of paint on my brush and palette knife. I really like the mood of this piece as it reflects the warm glowing light I found in the scene that I photographed in Santa Fe many years ago. I have always wanted to paint this scene and don't know why the photo sat in a box for so long before I decided to paint it. As the photo was taken pre-digital it shows how long I have had it laying around!

8"x10" unframed original oil
$425.00 + $10.00 shipping and handling
