Colorful Landscape Oil Painting "Olmsted Path" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

"Olmsted Path" is an oil landscape painting inspired by photographs taken at "Olmsted Linear Park Plein Air Paint Out, 2015. The series of 5 parks stretching along tree lined streets are a welcoming place to sit and reflect on the events of the day. I had the pleasure of painting in two of the parks this summer. Landscape White Barn Painting "Tennessee Grandeur" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited is Leipers Fork, Tennessee. Having been  raised in a small North Carolina town, the rolling acreage, with beautiful barns felt like home!  The photographs I took while there provided the inspiration for "Tennessee Grandeur", a  framed oil landscape painting on canvas. When I look at the painting I find myself enjoying the  memories again and again!

This painting is beautifully custom framed ready for hanging.

Paintings of Italy, Italian Cityscape, Figurative Watercolor "Camaraderie" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Camaraderie is about relationship between old friends in Italy. Spending the afternoon beneath the trees, watching passersby is not often enjoyed by most U.S. citizens. Because I was charmed by witnessed these men's sharing of their time, I wanted to record the moment in a watercolor painting.

North Carolina Landscape Oil Painting "Midday In Ironduff" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Photographing the scenery along country roads is always scheduled in my itinerary when traveling to my home state of North Carolina! There are rustic and romantic vistas, charming homesites , and farm animals in the fields! Even the two lane roads have a charming way of winding through the countryside! As  I travel around Atlanta, I pretty much see 7 or more lanes of traffic as I go about my day! "Midday In Ironduff" , an oil landscape painting describes my response to this countryside residence situated on a huge tract of farmland. Can you just see the owners of the property climbing the hill for a home grown supper!

"Riverbank Reflections" Original Oil Painting of the Chattahoochee Riverbank by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

I had convinced a good artist friend to go to the Chattahoochee Riverbank to paint late one evening last week! It was a mild summer evening, so here we go with easel, backpack, and tripod in hand! We had a wonderful time painting beside the water looking out at these reflections and imagining how we were ever going to describe the many beautiful colors in the water! My interpretation of the events is this small landscape oil painting named appropriately " Riverbank Reflections" .

As an artist, I am always looking for contrast; shadows give me what I am looking for! In addition to loving this old structure, the play of light is a painters dream!
