Spring at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Original plein air oil on canvas painting by Rhoda Sterling
My first rendering of Poppy Hill was a bold one: an 18 x 24 plain air oil near the English Walled Garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I've gone back to this hillside many times to watch the flowers change, mature and develop throughout the season.
