Waimea Canyon is on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The color of the canyon walls reminds me of the canyon colors of western Colorado, which is my home. The contrast is the climate: the lush foliage and humidity on the island of Kauai is lovely! And this viewpoint of Waimea Canyon is an iconic one.
I love Kauai. This is a landscape painting of Waimea Canyon. It's spectacular; full of steep, orange canyons, waterfalls, and jungle vegetation. All the waterfalls lead to the Pacific. Whenever I've been there, the colors are muted because the atmosphere is full of moisture. The Waimea Canyon's grandeur is magical to me and my artist's heart.
