Fall Landscape Painting by Jill Saur

I just put the finishing touches on this 10"x8"x1.5" acrylic landscape painting.   I've named it, "Autumn Allure", for the beckoning jeweled tones that emanate from the distant trees.

The inspiration is from a photo I took up near Cades Cove in Tennessee. There is a dirt road leading off the main road on the way to Cades Cove. The best kept secret is down that dirt road. It leads to an amazing waterfall and a stream that never seems to end. The rocks are huge and just gorgeous!

"Morning Walk" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on standard-width canvas
unframed (ready to be framed)

14" x 18"

This is another painting that I started a while ago. If a painting isn't working, I will gesso over it and reuse the canvas, but I still felt that this painting had potential. Putting a painting away for a while and then viewing it later allows you to see it with a fresh perspective. I noted that the "hard edges" were clearly a problem. (something that an acrylic painter has to be especially careful with as the paint dries so fast) I softened edges by drybrushing. I added in the stop signs - I like the way they frame the couple walking with their dog. A few hilights and I am now fairly satisfied with this piece!

"Autumn Evening Glow" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on Standard-width Canvas
ready to be framed

8" x 10"

This painting was inspired by a trip to nearby Cherry Creek State Park to shoot the coloured leaves at twilight.
I spent about an hour shooting the cottonwoods, and the sunlight on the reservoir and was starting to leave the park as it was getting dark. As I drove up the road leading out of the park the setting sun bathed my world in the most delicious, warm light. I stopped my car on the road and did a 360 with my camera on power wind. It was that kind of light that you wait all day to see, and have seconds to react to its effects.

Price: $175.00 + 15.00 S & H in the continental US.
