I painted this aspen grove with extremely thick oil paint and palette knife. The resulting canvas is loaded with texture, color and energy! I've painted it on 1 and 1/2 inch deep stretcher bars, with the image continuing around the edges so that it can be hung as is frameless for a contemporary look. This image looks great hung alone to brighten up a little spot, or in a grouping with some of the other seasons I've painted to fill a larger space. Aspens in the fall are a site to behold.  This painting was inspired by a trip to Colorado with my wonderful sister.  Aspen trees are amongst the oldest living organisms on the planet and they can grow a new tree from their root ball.  I love the symbolism they carry and the beauty they hold for those walk amongst them.

This painting, "Autumn Green", is an original acrylic on canvas and measures 11"x14".  It has texture in the trees and foliage and has a lovely warm glow when the lights are dimmed.

Each morning when I wake up, I look out my window and think about how different the day is from any other day that I've experienced.  It sets the framework for a mindset that is open to new possibilities and adventures.  The painting below is from a memory of a special day in Colorado.  I simply wanted to capture the nuance of that unique moment in time.
