Abstract mountain landscape "Mountain Waves"

                      MOUNTAIN WAVES by Sally Fraser

If you have seen the Appalachian Mountains, this 12 x 24 acrylic palette knife painting on  wrapped canvas draws you in to this scenic wonder.  I love the beauty of these majestic mountains.

After visiting in North Carolina for 40 years, I now show at the Cedar Hill Studio Gallery in Waynesville, N.C.  This is among other paintings that I have showing at this gallery.

North Carolina Smoky Mountains " Pigeon Road Barn "

"PIDGEON ROAD BARN"  by Sally Fraser

While traveling in the Smokey National Forest area , on the way to trout
fishing , I took this picture of this great barn and idyllic surroundings. So many
barns in North Carolina . The mountains are so green and sometimes the clouds
settle down in the valley.  The purplish reds and blues and greens in this 20 x 16,
palette knife painting depict the North Carolina scenes.

Original North Carolina Architectural Landscape Painting "Can't Wait to be There" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

FRESH OFF THE EASEL....

"Can't Wait To Be There" is a landscape oil painting of a farm in Western North Carolina. I had the privilege of painting there with a group of plein air artists in June, 2015. I found just the right spot to view the subject and had my easel set up early morning. The painting was completed in my studio with the aid of photographs taken on site.

North Carolina Landscape Oil Painting "Midday In Ironduff" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Photographing the scenery along country roads is always scheduled in my itinerary when traveling to my home state of North Carolina! There are rustic and romantic vistas, charming homesites , and farm animals in the fields! Even the two lane roads have a charming way of winding through the countryside! As  I travel around Atlanta, I pretty much see 7 or more lanes of traffic as I go about my day! "Midday In Ironduff" , an oil landscape painting describes my response to this countryside residence situated on a huge tract of farmland. Can you just see the owners of the property climbing the hill for a home grown supper!

Horsepasture River Barn 3, Contemporary Landscape Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

20" x 24", Oil, $600
Day 5:  Challenge 30/30
30 Paintings in 30 Days

This is the third and final rendition of this spot in North Carolina.
I enjoyed trying different styles these past 3 days on the same subject.
My plan for these 30 days is to concentrate on landscapes,
seascapes, and maybe some CATS, the latter will be a completely
new subject for me.

Horsepasture River Barn 2, Contemporary Landscape Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

20" x 20" x 1.5" Oil, $600
Day 4 of CHALLENGE 30/30
30 Paintings in 30 Days

Trying different techniques on the same subject,
this barn in North Carolina.
This was painted primarily with R&F pure pigment sticks
as well as some traditional oil paint.
What I am liking about this 30 day challenge
is that I am REQUIRED to paint everyday.
So laundry, vacuuming, errands, etc.
all have to wait.  Maybe until February.
(I'm already planning to have an everyday painting challenge in February.)

Day 3 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge
Loving this challenge as it gets me painting in the studio early on
in the day, before I'm consumed with other "important things."
This barn is located in North Carolina on Horsepasture River;
