Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Colorado Wildflowers, Flower Painting, 8x10x1.5" Oil, Colorado Kansas Line

Years ago, I lived in both Colorado and Kansas, but I don't remember these wildflowers that I found growing everywhere, when I visited there last year.

They must have been there, but a visit is different than a young woman, raising a family and working full time.

Sorry for the glare on this image.

I added great swirls of texture to the canvas before painting, trying to capture the feel of  flowers swaying in the breeze.

Can you tell I was facing east when I took this shot?  In Colorado (at least where I was) when you face west you see the Rockies, when you face east, you see the prairie.

Thanks for reading my blog today.....and keep painting!!

Party Girlsl...Rae Andrews

This one is also a wet into wet watercolor on Arches paper.

A fun one to do with no pre-drawing at all, just allowing the flowers evolve from wet paint. It's all in the way I manipulate the brush to make the marks that best represent the information. Great fun!

This is an unframed 14" x 20" watercolor.
$350 plus S/H

Prints are also available through Fine Art America:

This painting was a demo for wet into wet techniques and negative painting.

French Rest Stop Sunflower Garden - Flower and Landscape Paintings by Nancy Medina Art

http://nancymedina.fineartstudioonline.com/workszoom/1656257

French Rest Stop Sunflower Garden
by Nancy Medina
14X14
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

French Rest Stop is a new sunflower garden in Flower Mound Studio, I was needing some warm color to chase away the winter chill and fused some of my favorite photos from my back yard garden along with my trip to France together to create this little floral-scape. My adirondack chairs are bright blue, so I shifted their color to white so they wouldn't compete with my blue flower beds in the foreground. I'm imagining a nice warm summer day, with temps in the high 90s, and an icy glass of lemonade nearby...

French Village Lavender and Sunflowers and an Arkansas Workshop - Flower and Landscape Paintings by Nancy Medina Art

http://nancymedina.fineartstudioonline.com/workszoom/1647928

French Village Lavender and Sunflowers
by Nancy Medina
20X20
Oil on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas

French Village Lavender and Sunflowers is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, as the pug helpers lay about. I believe they are on strike, although they cannot hold up signs. It's more of a snoring laying about kind of strike. They don't seem the least bit excited about my big news today - I'm teaching my first workshop in Arkansas and you are cordially invited! *confetti!!* I'll be teaching in Hot Springs, a place I've always wanted to visit. Even better, it will not be in winter when I'm there. Here's a bit more info below. In the meantime, I have to wake up my snoring helpers and tuck them into bed. Sweet dreams flower friends!

Smith's Sunflowers by Artist of Texas, Sheri Jones

Smith's Sunflowers
10x8 oil on canvas

I painted this during the Paint Historic Waxahachie last week. These sunflower plants were outside a carpet business. We asked permission to paint in their front yard and got to work. It turned out the owner of this business is also a "painter friendly" master gardner. His house is on Main street and he welcomes artist every year to paint in his incredibly peace garden.

This is available for purchase. $225.00
