Mixed Media Oil Painting with Semi Precious Stones; Amethyst "Ethereal" by Tesa Michaels

Ethereal

2.5 inch Museum Wrap Panel
Semi-Precious Stones
Bringing in ELEMENTS of the earth into Fine Art
My “Elements” series is a creative blending of semi-precious stones and unique pieces of the earth with traditional fine art. I love finding and using things that were created by nature such as semi-precious stones and sea shells, using them in unique and creative ways.
“I’ve never seen anything like it”  Is the biggest comment I get.
The semi-precious stones I use in my Elements series come from all over the world from various sources. Most of the stones I use have been collected throughout the year in order to work out my compositions and then incorporate them into my paintings.
Each semi-precious stone has individual properties generating energetically from the stone. The energy can be felt by wearing the stone, touching the stone and will fill your room where the art will hang.
I encourage people to touch the stones on the art to resonate with its properties. I include properties of the stones with the descriptions. Some stones are healing, energizing, loving, and calming. Some resonate with different chakras and evoke emotions.
I love working with and showcasing the unique beauty found in each semi-precious stone. I hope you enjoy these unique works as much as I enjoy creating them.
Stones Used:
Amethyst: Treats insomnia, relives tension, helps overcome grief and loss, brings about spiritual awareness, constricting thinking and acting, good for skin, alleviates pain, lowers blood pressure, releases imbalances. Connects with spirituality and provides contentment. Clears the aura and relieves dysfunctional energy located within the body. Useful during meditation to promote and maintain a calm and peaceful state. Encourages sobriety, promotes sleep and combats headaches. Good for third eye chakra. Sign of Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius & Capricorn.

Stones Used:
Quartz Crystal From the Aurangabad District from Inida: Wonderful multi use stone. Enhances energy of all other stones and metals. Harmonious and powerful. Aids communication. Sign of Entire Zodiac.
Selenite: Selenite is a stone of mental clarity. This clarity enhances mental flexibility and enables strong decision making abilities.  It can affect every day life as full mental clarity into play to lesson confusion and mental disorientation. Selenite is also a stone of truth and honesty. This promotes good business practices as well as honesty in other types of relationships. It is used for contacting and communicating with angels for guidance. It can also be used for finding and working with other spirit guides.
Zeolite and Apophyllite from the Jalgaon District in India: In particular, zeolites are said to be extraordinarily helpful for absorbing and removing toxins, whether it be in the environment or in a person. In a person, this metaphysical aspect makes zeolites excellent healing stones, and they are often used in conjunction with Reiki.
Zeolites are also said to be useful for agriculture or gardening, especially when they are buried in the field or garden.
Zeolites are said to remove negative energy and bring in happiness where the negative energy was.
Chalcedony from the Jalgaon District from Inida
Merdenite from the Nasik District in India (Rare Mineral)

Winter Church Santa Fe by Char Fitzpatrick | Watercolor Landscape

Watercolor and gouache
8"x11"

Winter Church Santa Fe by Char Fitzpatrick

I enjoy the effect of using gouache on watercolors to "bring back" the whites. It is an opaque, water-based medium and gives a solid feeling to the painting.

Original Watercolor Landscape Painting, Front Porch,Harvest Art "The Gathering" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Autumn of the year is harvesting time! My family and I always love to venture outdoors to enjoy the colorful bounty seen this time of year! Seeing the old porch scene, pumpkins, and rough hewn wood, reminds me of my childhood growing up in the mountains of North Carolina! My inspiration for "The Gathering" came from fond memories and from several tubes of watercolor paint!

Frayssinet Sunset - French Landscapes and Flower Paintings by Nancy Medina

Frayssinet Sunset
by Nancy Medina
12X12
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Frayssinet Sunset is the newest daily in Flower Mound Studio, based on my recent visit to Southern France. I'll be teaching in this charming village next August, and can hardly wait to return. Tomorrow we'll be filming a new video in North Texas, so I did a little flower shopping today with Howard Pee Pugpants at the nursery here in Flower Mound. I hardly had time to put the pugmobile in park when the first crowd of adoring fans stepped up to greet Mister Howard, with pats and exclamations of his absolute handsomeness. Howard loves an audience and all the attention that comes with it, and gave several slobbery autographs before helping me pick out just the right blossoms to paint on camera tomorrow. What on earth would I do without my studio helpers to guide me in the right direction each day?

Fall Landscape, Daily Painting, "Fall Colors" by Carol Schiff, 6x8" Oil

We have just returned from several weeks in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.  Everyday I would run to the door as soon as the sun peeked over the mountain to see how the beautiful fall colors had intensified over night. I was not disappointed.

The sun was back lighting a red maple, giving it a beautiful glow.  I tried to duplicate the colors without falling into the "too garish" trap.

It was a lovely trip.  Lots to do with little time available.  I need to take a few deep breaths and all will turn out okay.
